On Saturday, we remember the day New York stood still, the drag queens SCREAMED and blood was spilled.. And each and every year it makes me feel tears of JOY that someone was willing to step out there, and put themselves on the line so that I can live FREE. Heading into Pride Week, I take some time to think about the brave men and women who paved the way for me to live freely as a gay man today. I can remember getting bottles thrown at us and many friends getting beaten up and/or raped just because we were different. |
